Dear Jeff,
Everyone who has come to visit us since you finished painting the outside of our house has remarked on how beautiful the house now looks. We feel obliged to tell them that this result was not achieved simply by having someone slap on a couple of coats of paint. We take great pleasure in telling them the care with which you and your crew prepped the house before painting could begin. If I remember correctly, you actually devoted more time getting the house properly prepped than you needed to do the actual painting.
Since our previous dealings with painters were generally not a happy experience, we were genuinely impressed with the professionalism of everyone on your crew. When my wife or I would look out at odd moments and catch sight of one of your painters working alone without direct supervision, we couldn't help noticing the painstaking care and intensity with which they each worked, and the pride they took in getting things just right. And unlike people we dealt with in the past, we were dazzled by a number of other things: the neatness with which you all worked during the day; the neat way you left everything at the end of each day; the fact that you started the job on the promised date and finished on the promised date and did not mysteriously disappear for a number of days to work on someone else's house before you finished working on ours.
If prospective clients would like to check the quality of your work before giving you the job, don't hesitate to suggest that they call us. We would be happy to tell them that you and your crew are true professionals who promise high-quality results and deliver on your promises.
Sincerely,
William A. Sabin
